VHS Learning Introduces Weekly Enrollment Option for New Flexible Courses
Schools can use these AP® and standard courses to help meet scheduling challenges
Boston – Oct. 12, 2022 – As students work to get back on track after the tumult of the past two years, they need as many options as possible for learning. VHS Learning is expanding those options by increasing the frequency with which it offers its Flexibly Paced courses. Now students can start a Flexible course on any Monday through the first week of December (for AP® courses) or through February (for non-AP® courses).
“These new options give students the flexibility to enroll in essential AP® and other core courses at the time that’s best for them,” said Carol DeFuria, President & CEO of VHS Learning. “Students are not bound by semester and school-year start dates and can use VHS Learning Flexible courses to adjust their academic schedules to suit their own unique needs.”
The Flexible course model is available for 16 courses in the current academic year:
- Algebra 1 Flexible
- AP® Calculus AB Flexible
- AP® Calculus BC Flexible
- AP® Computer Science Principles Flexible
- AP® Environmental Science Flexible
- AP® Macroeconomics Flexible
- AP® Microeconomics Flexible
- AP® Music Theory Flexible
- AP® Physics 1 Flexible
- AP® Spanish Language and Culture Flexible
- AP® Statistics Flexible
- AP® United States Government Flexible
- AP® United States History Flexible
- English 9 Flexible
- English 11 Flexible
- Spanish 1 Flexible
As with traditional VHS Learning courses, Flexible courses are paced with due dates and include asynchronous discussions with the teacher and classmates. VHS Learning teachers also host weekly office hours and invite students to monthly one-on-one progress meetings. The courses will end at the completion of the school year, so later enrollees will progress through course materials at a faster pace.
DeFuria continued. “These additional start dates for our Flexible course model will help schools meet scheduling challenges. We are dedicated to ensuring that schools and students have the options they need to take advantage of our expansive selection of quality courses.”
VHS Learning has a 26-year reputation for educational quality, including comprehensive professional development for the certified teachers who provide course instruction.
