At VHS Learning, we’re dedicated to opening a world of opportunity for high school students across the globe. For nearly 30 years, it has been our mission to increase access to rigorous and engaging online courses, filling gaps in schools’ curricula and providing opportunities for students to explore topics of interest. To ensure ongoing success, we closely monitor the achievements of our students, noting what works and taking feedback to improve our program for the benefit of our future learners.
The 2023-24 academic year was a milestone for us here at VHS Learning, marked by continued academic achievement from our students and an all-time high in partner school retention. With strong student outcomes in both Advanced Placement® (AP) and standard courses, as well as increased school satisfaction and renewal rates, VHS Learning remains a trusted online education partner for high schools across the world.
Outstanding Student Performance in AP® Courses
VHS Learning offers a robust catalog of 29 AP® courses that are designed to prepare students for success on the AP® exams administered by the College Board. In the 2023-24 academic year, VHS Learning students matched the global average AP® exam pass rate of 66%, with students in 16 of our AP® courses exceeding the average pass rates both in Massachusetts and globally. Given that Massachusetts consistently ranks as the top-performing state for AP® exam results, this achievement highlights the quality and effectiveness of our AP® offerings, as well as the dedication of our students and teachers.
Notably, students who took VHS Learning’s AP® Precalculus course achieved a 100% pass rate, significantly outperforming the global average of 76%. Other notable VHS Learning AP® course achievements include:
Success in Standard and Credit Recovery Courses
In addition to success in AP® courses, VHS Learning students in standard-level and credit recovery courses also demonstrated strong academic achievement. In 2024, the average pass rate for students enrolled in standard courses was an impressive 92%. Credit recovery courses also saw improvement, with an 81% average student pass rate––a considerable increase from 75% in 2022.
Securing Ongoing Partnerships with Schools Worldwide
As a result of our high-quality courses and reputation for cultivating student achievement, VHS Learning also attained a record-breaking school retention rate last year. Out of more than 520 schools that chose VHS Learning as their online learning partner, 99% renewed their partnership for another year.
Our ongoing partnerships with schools across the world reinforce VHS Learning’s value as a reliable and high-quality provider of online education. In the 2023-24 school year, 91% of administrators and 93% of site coordinators expressed high satisfaction with their schools’ VHS Learning experience, reflecting the trust and confidence these educators place in our programs.
